Additional Information
The world's flattest 4 and 6-pole safety relays for switching currents up to 8AThese extremely low height safety relays clearly demonstrate once again pioneering innovation in the field of electrical and electromechanical components. The new SIF relays with an element height of just 10.9 mm are currently the flattest 4 to 6-pole relays with forcibly guided contacts on the market. Apart from this, these 8A rated relays impress with product properties which combine the high switching reliability and a high degree of freedom in circuit design.
The monostable, neutral magnet system requires a mere 660mW (6 poles) or 700mW (4 poles) coil drive capacity and can be lowered to approx. 200 mW after switching on. This makes the SIF ideal for applications with a high component density and thermal strains. If the fixation pins on the relay's underside are taken advantage of as stand-offs, the relay height is approx. 12.1 mm and SMD of up to 1mm element height can be placed under it. The washproof (RTIII) and RoHS-conforming SIF relay, with its housing of temperature-resistant LCP, is completely suitable for use in soldering processes complying with the RoHS guideline.
Both relay types feature contact assemblies of application category A (EN 50205). This means that all contacts are forcibly guided with each other. In the event of a contact's failure to open (welding / clinging), the contra-functional contacts of the relay have a guaranteed minimum opening width of 0.5mm. Particular attention has been paid to a wide switching load range. The hard-silver alloy, free of heavy metals, is suitable for switching capacities from 5mA to 8A (AC-1). Moreover, notched-crown contacts are used which combine the benefits of crown, twin and knife-edge contacts. This guarantees safe and reliable contact making over very long operation periods at low switching loads (feedback circuits).
With a base area of approx. 53.6 mm x 33.5 mm of the SIF6 and approx. 41.0 mm x 29.4 mm of the SIF4, special care has been taken to maintain the safe separation of all current carrying circuits (test voltage 4,000 Veff.). The high shock and vibration resistance (AK15g / 10g) is also confirmed by the common approbations of the TUeV, SEV etc.
As is the case with all other safety relays manufactured by ELESTA relays GmbH and distributed by Arlin Components & Hardware, special customized variants can also be offered for the SIF range. Data sheets, expert consultancy and samples can be obtained from Arlin as from now.
